Edinburgh World Heritage – Head of Operations and Business Support

Edinburgh World Heritage (EWH) is looking for a new Head of Operations and Business Support. 

This key role supports the Director and other senior managers in the leadership, direction, management and administration of the charity, helping to formulate and execute the organisational strategy and ensuring that Edinburgh World Heritage meets the goals of its Corporate Strategy and other management frameworks. The post-holder also supports the Director and the Board on all governance matters.

A member of the Senior Management Team, the overriding purpose of the role is to ensure the smooth running of the small and committed team overseeing governance, HR, digital and office administrative functions. Key in this is data management, leading on digital transformation of core IT systems such as SharePoint.

The support of financial management is a primary activity, leading on management and grant budgeting, payment management and supporting the Trust’s outsourced accountancy and book-keeping arrangements as well as responsibility for preparation of Annual Accounts and liaison with auditors. Specific responsibility for managing the repayable grant scheme, from the administration of title burdens to collection of grants on building sales sits with this post (note – EHW offers a facility for conservation grant projects to repay sums on sale of property, over and above any non-repayable grant offer made).

The coordination and oversight of EWH’s main grant programmes is a key function. Working with the Programme Leads/Heads of Service, the role will ensure the effective management and control of systems and information, including clear reporting of financial information to staff and Board Committees and the drawdown of grants, etc.

Salary: £41,067 per annum

Status: Full-time permanent (0.8 FTE may be considered)

Location: Edinburgh; hybrid working option available
