Battle of Bannockburn Visitor Centre
Our understanding of the historic environment is increasing and this continues to influence how we present and enhance it.
|Organisation:||Historic Environment Scotland, National Trust for Scotland and Heritage Lottery Fund|
|Project title:||Battle of Bannockburn Visitor Centre|
This joint project between the National Trust for Scotland (NTS) and Historic Environment Scotland, supported by a Heritage Lottery Fund grant of £3.94m, commemorates the famous battle, which took place on the site 700 years ago in 1314. The new centre is the first tourist attraction in the world to use state-of-the-art motion capture techniques to immerse visitors in a realistic and historically accurate medieval battle in 3D. The dedicated Bannockburn learning website includes an interactive battlepedia, quizzes, and send a postcard.
