Planning Consultation Workshop

Planning Consultation Workshop

Date: Thursday 9 February 2017, 10:00 – 13:00.

Venue: 125 Princes Street, Edinburgh, EH2 4AD.

Organisation: Built Environment Forum Scotland (BEFS).

The Scottish Government has issued its consultation on the future of the planning system – Places, People and Planning. Join us to hear directly from Chief Planner John McNairney, and discuss key themes within the consultation document.

This upcoming workshop will give BEFS Members and Associates an opportunity to discuss the key themes within the consultation document, which centre on four key objectives –

  • To simplify and strengthen development planning
  • To use the planning system to empower people to have more influence on the future of their places
  • To use the planning system to help deliver more high quality homes and create better places by actively enabling and co-ordinating development
  • To remove processes that do not add value, and strengthen leadership, resources and skills

The consultation document refers to research being commissioned, some of which has now been published:

In order to ensure a diverse range of views, places are initially limited to two individuals per organisation.

Members only.
