Scottish Historic Buildings Trust – Marketing & Communications Manager

Scottish Historic Buildings Trust (SHBT) are seeking a Marketing and Communications Manager, who will lead communications and audience development across the Trust and its projects.

As Scotland’s national building preservation charity, and with a small expert team and no core public funding, SHBT have restored over 40 historic buildings and raised more than £40 million. They provide buildings at risk with a sustainable future in the communities around them.

The Marketing & Communications Manager is pivotal in promoting the charitable mission, telling the story of their restoration projects, and building the audiences and public profile on which their work depends.

This is an ideal role for a proven storyteller, communicator and marketer with experience in heritage and culture, who wants to shape how a national charity is understood, turning complex architectural and historical context into clear and effective communications campaigns that drive SHBT towards its key objectives and support for its projects across Scotland.

SHBT’s commercial activities include weddings, events and venue hire, all of which sustain that preservation work.

The postholder will report to the Director and Head of Operations, working closely with project managers and colleagues across the Trust, and SHBT Trustees.
