EWH – Public Realm Project Officer (Historic Graveyards)

Edinburgh World Heritage (EWH) is seeking an enthusiastic, collaborative, and organised individual to become their new Public Realm Projects Officer (Graveyards).

EWH is an independent charitable company that manages and advocates for the Old and New Towns of Edinburgh World Heritage Site, distributing around £600,000 in grants each year to conserve, celebrate, and widen access to the city’s unique historic buildings and public spaces.

Reporting to the Head of Conservation (Public Realm) through the Graveyard Manager, the postholder will play a key role in delivering the Historic Graveyards project, supported through the Edinburgh Visitor Levy, initially focusing on Greyfriars Kirkyard and its innovative Conservation Management Plan.

Alongside supporting the wider Public Realm Programme and Small Community Grants Fund, the postholder will work closely with local Friends Groups, City of Edinburgh Council officials, EWH colleagues, and other partners to conserve, improve, and interpret the historic streets and spaces of the World Heritage Site.

Responding to queries, administering grant funds, monitoring projects, collaborating with partners, and supporting community engagement are key responsibilities of the role.
