Community engagement in the Scottish planning process is of interest across BEFS Membership, to both civic and professional groups. As part of the review of the Scottish planning system the Scottish Government commissioned research into barriers to community engagement in the planning system which was undertaken by Yellow Book, supported by SCDC and Nick Wright Planning. BEFS has invited two members of the team, John Lord of Yellow Book and Nick Wright to share their findings and recommendations followed by a discussion with the audience. We have also invited officials from the Scottish Government’s Planning & Architecture Division.
Everyone is welcome to attend and it will be of particular interest to those anticipating the publication of a Scottish Planning Bill in late 2017.
Can the conundrum of making the planning system more efficient and more engaging be solved?
